Rider Story
An Innovation Skiing Has Needed
A lifelong Cottonwoods skier who's always hunting for better gear takes ShredShox's full-suspension platform out on home turf.
I've been a very avid skier since I was about four years old. Growing up, Brighton in Utah was my home mountain - and I cut my teeth all over the Cottonwoods at Alta, Solitude, and Snowbird too. There's nothing like getting fresh tracks on Milly Bowl, threading the tight trees on Hardcoin, or just making clean turns down to Crest.
Learning to ski that young, on mountains like those, made me a diverse and creative skier instead of someone locked into one style. It also left me with a habit I've never kicked: I'm always hunting for new gear that can make me more comfortable, sharpen my skills, and get more out of every day on the hill. Last winter, I got the chance to test something genuinely new.

A New Kind of Ski
I tested ShredShox's brand-new full-suspension skis. Unlike a typical alpine or freestyle setup, ShredShox builds shock-absorbing suspension right into the ski for a smoother, better ride.
What It Felt Like
After trying them out, I was shocked by how much the suspension soaked up - chop, chatter, and all the little issues that usually come with carving hard. It let me dig deeper into my carves and feel far more confident as I released out of each turn.
Just as important, it gave my knees and lower body a real break from absorbing uneven snow and ice - which, to me, makes it safer than a standard ski. Yes, there's a little extra weight, but an extra pound or two is nothing next to what the system gives back.
ShredShox is an innovation the skiing world has badly needed.
Bottom Line
I'm proud to have tested it from the early stages, and I'll keep promoting it and advocating for it every day I'm on snow.
